Moses Bazibu

Master Vision Bearer @ Voices and Beats Record

Bio

Mr. Moses BAZIBU, is the Master Vision Bearer and Founder of Voices & Beats Records Label, Uganda, a Label driven by innovation and creativity. Professionally, he is a financial analyst who holds a Master of Science (Accounting and Finance) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance). He is also a member of the ACCA (UK), Microsoft Academy of Certified Professionals (MCP), and the Academy of Management (AoM) of America. In 2019, he founded Voices & Beats Records, a leading Record Label and Multi- Media Production House in Uganda, whose main goal is to revolutionise and professionalise the Uganda’s music industry. Unlike other Labels, Voices & Beats Records operates using the coopetition strategy and creates strategic partnerships with the key stakeholders in the industry. He has a real knack and passion for music, but because he can’t sing, he decided to join the music industry as a social entrepreneur. That is, his enterprise has an underlying social purpose of giving an opportunity to the emerging and established artists to consider music as a career than a hobby. Further, the Label supports Artists to publish and digitally distribute their music such that they can get a fair value of their music in terms of loyalties from both the Digital Streaming Platforms and leveraged markets. In relation to this Symposium, Mr. Moses BAZIBU has frantically spearheaded a technical team at Voices & Beats Records that developed frameworks for monetization of music by establishing a music royalties exchange, a platform that will enable musicians and investors to exchange music rights and royalties. In addition, in line with the Security Interest in Movable Properties Act (SIMPA) of 2019, with guidance from URSB and UPRS, Voices & Beats Records has developed a practical model for the collateralization and valuation of intellectual property, specifically for music copyrights. The model bridges the music industry to the credit financing industry and provides a mechanism for valuing the music copyrights using a combination of the cost, market, and revenue methods.
